This is the question I probably get the most as the founder of a charity. And when people find out I don't have any paid staff, I usually get a look of skepticism and asked for proof of how I can ensure that donations really get to the kids. 

Well, for one I have had 20 years of experience doing this and for the most part how we ensure that the money we send in grants for the children we help has not changed.

First we spend time trying to select trustworthy partners.

Then, we stay in close contact and finally we strive for transparency in our interactions.

From a grocery receipt to a quick WhatsApp call or text. Here's an example of how we know the money is going where it needs to go! 

​We are in it together - all of us - for the children.

For more than 10 years we have been quietly supporting the Lighthouse Stimulation Center with grants varying from $1,000 to $5,000 for food for the children in their care, clothing and supplies.

The children have special needs and come from impoverished backgrounds and the center provides essential services. A little goes a long way thanks to the stewardship of Lucilla our contact there and the watchful eye of our former Board Member, Deacon Walter Middleton who drops in there from time to time to check on the kids.

​When you donate to Baal Dan you donate to these children whose daily meal and uniforms are funded thanks to your generosity.

For the third year in a row, Baal Dan is hosting “Networking for a Cause” on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in New York City in the heart of Manhattan with spectacular views.

The aim of this event is to create awareness of how children are impacted by climate change and conflict, with the goal of alleviating hunger and creating meaningful connections. 

This event brings together like-minded professionals from market research, philanthropy, nonprofits, NGOs, architecture and more. Spaces are limited for this private event.
