Each ration bundle costs about $60 and provides food for 3 months for a child in need.

Just a few months ago, I was in Ethiopia and witnessed the amazing impact Baal Dan makes for children in need. Our food rations partnership with ASDEPO enabled us to save the lives of over 600 children who were so severely malnourished that their arm circumference was smaller than just two fingers. It was humbling to see, and it was my most precious moment this year.
*In the past year here are the grants that were activated! 1. ASDEPO (Ethiopia) for food rations for 600 children. 2. CHILD HAVEN (India) for biogas system, sewing machines, vitamins, daily food and school supplies for 500 children. 3. JAGRITI SCHOOL FOR BLIND (India) for daily food and school supplies as well as tech equipment for 100 orphaned girls who are blind. 4. LIGHTHOUSE (South Africa) for daily food and new school uniforms and shoes for children and young adults with special needs. *Grant funds listed were sent to grantees in Dec 2024. I hope that your holiday season is blessed, happy, peaceful and safe. Every dollar counts and we make our funds stretch as far as they can to help as many little ones as possible with virtually no overhead unlike many other organizations. For anyone curious about a career in research, I am thankful to Significant Insights, James Endersby (Opinium) and James Whaley for the opportunity to share some of my own journey.

"The conversation also addressed a growing hesitation among companies to give publicly, amid political polarization and concerns about reputational risk. Tanya's advice: start with the why. She says that if you’ve defined your mission and communicated your values, you can withstand scrutiny. “Authenticity and alignment can help buffer you against any potential risks.” Every partnership carries risk, but the benefits of giving, to society and to your own people, far outweigh it." 📖 Read the Greenbook article here: https://www.greenbook.org/insights/executive-insights/the-power-of-purpose-how-charitable-giving-strengthens-the-insights-community 🌍 See the Esomar 2025 session here: https://youtu.be/e_AcaPL-wsg?si=tQS1UJ7yySAfXkZ4 Today is #GivingTuesday! The holidays are important for Baal Dan Charities because that is when the majority of our funds come in. Please make a donation at www.baaldan.org - every dollar counts for us and we do our best to ensure it goes to children in need - without admin costs. Thank you so much for your support.
The month of December usually flies by so we wanted to send just one message this month to ask you to please remember to donate to Baal Dan! Almost all the funds we raise come in over the holidays - it is a critical time for us to fill our funds to help keep feeding and supporting children in need. From Ethiopia to India, Ukraine, Nepal and South Africa, we help grassroots projects and local NGOs with life-saving grants for food, supplies and education. Consider giving a one-time donation, signing up to be a monthly donor for 2026 or asking your company to make a match! Every dollar counts and we make our funds stretch as far as they can to help as many little ones as possible with virtually no overhead unlike many other organizations. We have children in South Africa with special needs that we provide uniforms and daily food to each year. This small center is a lifeline of support and hope for children living in extreme poverty. We have children in India and Nepal that are orphans or have special needs that we provide daily food, supplies, education and more. It only takes $50 a month to feed each child for a month. Their smiles say it all! We have boys in Nepal we support with daily food, counselling and education to help them build resilience and hope as they recover from trauma, abuse and neglect.
