💫 Ahead of the #UNGA, and at the kind invitation of Annie G. Toro, I was delighted to have the opportunity to join representatives from NGOs such as Save the Children International, Partners In Health and agencies such as United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to discuss ways that foreign aid can be strengthened with the Office of Representative Mike Quigley, held in Washington, D.C. with his staff.
🌍 It was an inspiring session, and I was moved by the Congressman’s reference: “By your acts you give people faith…”, in acknowledgement of Baal Dan Charities’ grassroots approach to helping those in need.
💚 And, while my organization was the smallest in this session, it was affirming to have my approach of partnering directly with local NGOs such as Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) in Ethiopia be validated because it works!
